Why Use the ASTD Competency Model?
If you are in the Training and Development field you know about ASTD (The American Society for Training and Development). Their model for training competency is fantastic. Why you ask?
The website astd.org says the Competency Model:
- provides a professional development blueprint for the learning professional
- helps you prepare for the future faster
- identifies skill gaps and ways to close them.
It doesn’t get much better than that. With focus on Change Management, Performance Improvement, Delivery, Coaching, Learning Program Management, and Evaluation; if you aren’t using the model to direct your training initiatives you should really check into it.
